Souli is a well-known hamlet from the history, with few residents. Ali Passas in 1803 accomplished with betrayal to overcome the Souli. He had promised to Souliotes to let them to leave, however as it is already known he did not keep his promise. A union of Souliotes was saved in Parga, and the other union was exterminated in the abbey of Seltsoy in Arta and the third union (the last one) was exterminated in Zaloggo , where we have the heroic death in the dance of "Zaloggou" that has remained in the history. Sivota or Mourtos, coastal tourist centre, in region with full olives and marvelous. On Ottoman domination the village was named Mourto, however in 1959 took the name Sivota from the naval battle of Sivoton that had become the 433 B.C.

The Municipality of Margariti covers an area of 141.579.000 m2, with a population of 3.324 residents. Margariti is the seat of the Municipality.
